So Steven Lim’s date turned out disastrous, but we’re pretty sure it was in a way useful as it touched on some common mistakes made by men. This episode, we move on to the dating crimes of women and yes, there certain things women have to take note of if they want to leave a great impression. This time round, we’re grateful to have local love blogger Estelle Kiora Cheng on the show to re-enact the ways of a lousy date.

(clockwise, from top left) Estelle picking the appropriate outfit for her lunch date; taking food directly from your date's plate is a big no-no; Jonathan passes his verdict at the end of his date with Estelle.
Before the filming, Estelle was under the impression that the objective of this episode was to get two socially inept individuals to date, and create an epic failure. In fact, Estelle who writes her own love blog, is already quite informed on such dating matters. We had wanted her to play out the few dating taboos she has come across for Violet to pass comments. The problem would be, how far would she allow herself to be a lousy date on video?
Acting as Mr. Potential is local emcee Jonathan Lee (or Jonny as he’s more commonly known), and he’s the exact opposite of Steven Lim – eloquent, gentlemanly, candid and with a good sense of humour. The lunch date turns out to be engaging, but the pressure is on Estelle, how many mistakes will she allow herself to commit?

No sexy-sexy for your first date!
Estelle has no problem dressing up, but for the sake of illustration, we picked out clothes that were a tad too revealing and too formal from her wardrobe.
Violet suggests that ladies dressing up for their first dates should take note not to appear too sexy. The setting and the time of the date matters as well, as a lunch date in a casual restaurant permits a semi-formal dressing. It would be a good idea as well to have the colour and style reflect your personality. Take a look at what we got for Estelle in this next video!
Don’t let Facebook or blog ruin your date
Being a blogger, Estelle is familiar with her social networking platforms, but maybe a little too savvy with it that she does her own detective work prior to meeting Jonny — prying into his online space, and then blatantly admitting to it on the first date.
Violet feels that if this date was arranged by a mutual friend and Facebook provides a convenient way of getting to know this date, it is ok to check out his or her profile online, but avoid snooping around too much, and don’t confess to “stalking” so early in the relationship.
Subsequently, Estelle also whips out her camera for an extensive food photography session, but this blogger habit might not be the best thing to do on a first date too. Find out why.
What should you do when the bill comes?
At the end of the meal, the bill is called. What should the ladies do? Volunteer to pick up the tab? Keep utterly quiet and ignore that slip of paper?
We’ll leave it up to you to click on this last video of the episode and of the entire series, to see how Estelle ends her lunch date gracefully.
