Mention Palais Renaissance and you'd probably picture "tai-tai central" or a place for the well-heeled. Well, it does have its premium brands and exclusive shops, but what's interesting for me is the revival going on in terms of restaurants there. As I found out, there are lovely lunches which are n (Read more...)

I enjoyed the report on the realities for cafés in Singapore (ST, Dec. 28). That only 55 per cent of cafés, coffee houses, and snack bars started in 2011 remain open should not be surprising, and is a good contrast to feel-good stories of wide-eyed, enthusiastic new entrants trying to carve a niche (Read more...)

(Read more...)
