Story Plot.
This movie plot revolved around the legend of 8 legendery Demigods who are sent down by heaven to help provide guidance to the mortals in doing good and making sure they don’t stray to the bad paths. But along the way. One Immortal called Yasha rebels and kills his fellow Demigods. Thus starting the war of the Immortals where the seven of the demigods who are killed by Yasha will be reincarnated to fight against Yasha to try and bring him down so they can continued their duty of providing guidances and peaces to the mortal world we all live in.

The movie kicks off is an unusual fashion after the prologues. Karen Mok is the daughter of Kenny B who is part of the Wyneers. And Kenny B gets into alot of debts as he married Karen’s friend. Who in turn trick Eason Chen to fork out a huge sum of money by saying Kenny B is going to hold a Wyneers concert.

Along the way, The duo who is going to save Kenny’s wife meet up with William Su who is a taxi driver with a funny accent, Who drives them around while meeting Jaycee Chan and the plot just carry itself on thru out the movie.

Director Jeffrey Lau added in lots of fun elements into the creation of this movie. And he has created characters in which you won’t expect to see with so many stars in it. Take William So for example. The role he plays cracks me up with the way he talk and acted. Another surprising role was played by Ekin Cheng. Who is a mute. He express his roles well and brings me to tears in one portion of the movie. What is it about? Go check it out.

This movie is base on some legends with some super heroes flick thrown in. A fusion of sort. This movie takes the plot seriously yet light hearted at the same time. I have seldom see movies produced by Hong Kong for a long time. And this movie brings back the same feelings that I used to have a long time ago.

The only thing that I didn’t like is the ending of the movie I felt it somehow rush. If given more time to developed the characters. I think it will flushed out nicely whereby all the audiences will feel appreciated as they can get to understand the other characters inside the movie beside the few main leads. Another this is I felt that the back story of the 8 immortals have could have told to explain the sudden changes of Yasha more.

I have given this movie a 4 out of 5 pop corns. Reason is because we really need this type of comedy that respects the viewers yet can bring laughter to the public. It a movie genre that should be kept and pass on to the newer generations. So go book your tickets for this movie cause it worth it. Till next time everyone. Movie Junkie out :)
