One week has passed since I started my new health and fitness regime.

Here are highlights of what I have been eating all week.

Basically cutting off all deep fried food, sweet drinks, soft drinks, sweets, chocolates, white rice, white bread, noodles, etc etc and replacing them with brown rice, wholemeal bread, lean meat, fruits, vegetables and lots of plain water. Exercising daily and reading nutritional labels on stuff that I buy. Oh and most importantly, getting enough sleep by turning in early and waking up at 6am in the morning.

I survived week 1!

Hello there

This is a long overdue post, so if this may come across as lengthy, please bear with me.

In case you might be wondering what I have been up to or where I have gone, well, here is a quick update:

1) Gigs – I have been quite occupied with performing at weddings, corporate events and schools over the past 3 months. A lot of work but it’s a lot of experienced gained too.

2) iPED -My acoustic band that performs at Beer Market (English songs) on Mondays (8-11pm) and Fridays (730-930pm), and at Shuffle Bistro Bar (English, Mandarin and little bit of dialect songs) on Wednesdays (8-11pm). 3) Currency Trading – Other than music, my other passion is trading currencies or otherwise known as Forex. It’s something new for me and it is very different from what I have been doing for most of my life (which is music). Interestingly, I am starting to see the correlation between the two as trading is all about building discipline, understanding human psychology and exercising creativity as well. I keep a blog about my trading journey over here.

4) Get In Shape and Live Healthy – This is something I am going to start doing today. No point waiting for some special day or some major illness to strike before acting. Agree?

5) Live Life To Its Fullest – I enjoy reading (save the bookstores in Singapore please!!!), watching a good movie, writing a good song, listening to all sorts of music, taking a walk with nature, drinking green tea, feeding my hamster and blah blah blah. Life is beautiful when we start enjoying the simple pleasures in life. I’m reminding myself to always stay happy and think positively as there is no point in being a grumpy and depressed fella that is at war with everyone but himself. Life is too short for regrets!

Vincy or otherwise known as 泳兒, is a well-known Hong Kong based singer that I have always wanted to work with.

I held on to that wish for quite some time before it finally came true.

As a result, I managed to contribute  2 arrangements for her latest album.

And such is the power of beliefs.

I always believed that if you set your heart’s desire to obtain something, you will get it. The results may not be immediate, but the process is worth it. Some call this the “Law of Attraction”, some call it “The Power of the Subconscious Mind” and some call it “The Power of Positive Thinking”. To me, I’m a believer of all. I believe the human mind possesses great powers waiting to be tapped by us. Sadly, a lot of times, we allow our mind to control us, rather than the other way round.

To everyone out there who is reading this, I guess that if anytime we are feeling hopeless about life, career, love or finances, we should sit down, organize ourselves and look ahead instead of wallowing in self-pity, doubts and regrets. Instead of starting an endless stream of complains, why not channel that time and energy to set your goals (realistic ones)? And to stay focused and maintain self-discipline? You don’t have to push yourself too hard, just know gently at the back of your mind and inside your heart, you have this desire to achieve your goals.

To me, winning this award is not an end in itself. It is one of many more humble steps I need to take on this path of music.

Winning an award doesn’t warrant any form of complacency whereby one can rest on their laurels under the shade. No no. Rather, I will think of it as “to be on track and on your guard at all times because people are noticing“.
