祝福是幸福的!
, 10 02nd, 2009I had a fabulous time on Tuesday! My beloved princess is finally married to her prince charming! I would like to give them my best wishes. 我相信祝福别人,我们也会得到幸福。
Well, I’m sure there is still room for improvement on my wedding planning skills but if you asked me how I would grade myself for Fann & Chris’s wedding, I would say 9 out of 10. I’m really glad I was the one who was calling the shots for this wedding because if not for me, the wedding would probably have turned into another dramatic variety show. I’m sorry if I’ve offended the producers for our local variety programme but that’s just my opinion. Simplicity to me is classic and timeless… just like the love between my princess and her prince charming
Here’re some images to share before I continue further…
Dear reporter,
I’m really puzzled… Wasn’t interviewing Keith Png, one of Singapore’s current fashion designer good enough? Why did you even bother to interview another designer who is passé and non-influential for such a current occasion? What in the world would he know about international trends when his own work doesn’t even do our own country proud? And to think he could question why wasn’t Fann’s gown by Chanel and Dior instead? It’s about time to move on and look beyond the few designers you have in that sad world of yours. Well, no offence to Chanel and Dior. We all know that they are well-known couture houses with a long history, and I do appreciate them as well. But, just so you know, Bally is also an international brand with a beautiful collection. Everyone has a different opinion and I respect that but I can’t agree with someone who wears a fur coat (that almost looks like faux fur) to a fashion event in SINGAPORE! Come on, isn’t it embarrassing for a designer to not know how to dress appropriately for a particular event or climate? What a fashion faux pas!
Come on, at the end of the day, the most important thing is to be able to look good and stunning. Be it Bally, Vera Wang or Zegna, if the fit and design is right for now, then the battle is won. Why bother whether it’s by Galliano or Lagerfeld? Well, such comments made by one probably boils down to insecurity I guess… and I really pity such behaviour because it really makes one look pathetic. Even if I had something nasty to say about one’s wedding, event or party, I’d be smart not to mention it to the press and allow myself to be portrayed in such an immature manner. It’s about time to move out of your comfort zone and start improving yourself instead. Such a process will probably take more than a lifetime for you!
You also ask why this wedding has to be so extravagant. Why not spend the money on something more useful like donating it to charity instead. Well, they do not have to publicise which organisation they donate to, do they? Even if they publicly announce that they are donating a million dollars to charity, wouldn’t you then say that they are showing off or using it as a publicity stunt? There is always something to say about everything. No matter good or bad, you pathetic souls always want to have an opinion even if it’s unworthy. Fann Wong and Christopher Lee are one of Singapore’s most well known celebrities – it’s inevitable that they’re wedding would be that of a grand affair.
It’s time for the local reporters to stop bitching and start reporting newsworthy stories instead. Even the reporters in China are more open-minded than us! You guys not only report negatively on practically everything, you can’t even get the facts right before printing it – simple things like names of guest can be wrong. How embarrassing! Is reporting rubbish the only way to sell papers because if it is then you shouldn’t call yourself a reporter, it’s time for you to join the 狗仔队 instead. I’m starting to think that you have to slam others to balance out your sad and pathetic life. Do you ever think why your life is as such? BOOMZ! It’s karma my friend. Don’t forget – if you’re a bitch, life will be a bitch right back at you!

i salute you! love the way you slam them back into their pathetic small world. Guess they do not have a life and that they are jealous of ple having one….so here you go…getting whatever sH*T they can to write out of people’s happiness…hoping to make ple as miserable as themselves…pathetic souls…

I’m really amazed… Criticising a designer who dressed Beyonce recently being passé and non-influential, that is if you consider a F1event less current than a hyped up wedding. I feel sorry for you and your tiny world. Talking about international trends, an impressive record for cutting hair for stars like Gong Li and Zhang Ziyi, well must we say more? Do we need to blog about these Chinese stars forever? Surely, you can do Singapore more proud than endorsing nest best. Leave FASHION to the real experts my dear, for you were spotted downtown countless times in slacks and a pathetic cap, perhaps look at the Man in the Mirror first before we start bitching about others? Surely, no offence to the kampong boy who made a name for himself, but honestly nobody really gives a hoot anymore. How very embarrassing to blog a molehill into a mountain like it was some international event. Respect begets respect. Frankly, I feel for you. Perhaps you need this to feel better in your tiny BLVD apt.

hi david, i’m impressed with the whole wedding idea put up by you, esp the bollywood theme. nobody would have had such a chic idea & that it would work out so resplendently. i like the first gown especially. fann look so much like a princess, and so does chris as her prince.
local newspaper/reporters, sadly, will always have negative write-out. if not, how else can they catch the attention of the readers.
not to mention, they can actually named the wrong guest. the english newspaper just simply assume that the lady besides pat mok is ‘yi da li’ just because of the variety show milan & paris. that not only disrespect the guest, but shows that how the standard of QC the newpaper had before publishing.
ignoring the local news report, 29sep09 is indeed the wedding of the year. wish chris & fann have a blissful marriage & 早生贵子! ^^

Grace Yip,
I need no pity from you. And I’m already laughing at the fact that you actually can be bothered to reply that long sad comment of yours – so full of hatred and jealousy. And thanks for noticing me on the streets… such a priceless act indeed. Then again, at least you know who I am. Cos I don’t even know who you are and won’t even care to give a shit. I’m not sure why you’re directing my criticisms to a particular designer who happened to have dressed Beyonce, unless you also thought likewise… or my descriptions of this person probably fitted him well. But I’m not interested to know who it was anyway. Anyway, good for Beyonce then!
Have a wonderFOOL weekend!

Hi David,
Would like to say it’s great to see Bally collaborating with Fann & you for the dresses. It’s a first for this leather-goods fashion house to try new things and I would say that the designs turned out real good!
Pertaining to the ‘fashionista’ who commented that Fann’s money should be better invested in couture houses like Chanel & Dior, I think Bally is still worth a try too! The Bollywood cum English theme was fresh and never-tried before.
Anyway, just thought that since Fann had so much work done with Loewe, why didn’t you or Fann choose to work with Loewe too? Just a question.
The wedding was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the viewers! =) Thanks for the hardwork!!!

Art is very subjective matter. Whoever planned this wedding is really trying his best. I have seen Fann in wedding gowns several times, what she wore on her real big day is definitely special. As for publicity, how they chose to plan her wedding, including the wedding planner is really up to them. Generally, I can feel the joy and it doesn’t matter anymore as long as they are happy.
Personally, I think Grace is being rude. Even if you want to voice your opinion, which is a negative one in this case, you can still do it in a more polite and constructive way.

Well Done David, you had done a great job! I’m so touch by Fann & Chris’s Wedding. It’s the Wedding of the Year. You deserve more than 9 out of 10, you have my support! Cheers

David,
I’ve been reading your blog, and am very much entertained. Thanks!
You write very well. Who has been sprouting nonsense about you being illiterate? They are plain jealous of you.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
David,
Ignore those nasty remarks about you. This is YOUR blog, and you have the liberty to write anything you fancy. After all, the pen is mightier than the shears! Oops…I meant sword. Apologies for the tacky joke.
Have a nice day, and blog more! I look forward to reading more.

Hey David,
You know, I’m based in HK and just last month, I went to a salon to have a haircut. The stylist, knowing that I hail from Singapore, asked me if I ever had my hair cut by Kim Robinson.
To tell you the truth, I have heard of Kim Robinson but I do not even know how he looks like. I have heard of you, and I know how you look like. A few years back, I even spotted you walking in my direction along Orchard Road. On that note, you are more successful!

Ah Doe – I totally agree with you. Grace has taken this whole matter to a personal level. It’s not just trying to voice her opinions… it’s almost like a personal attack. No reason unless she is jealous… or whatever the reason may be. sickening.
Henriette – Thank you so much
I am just one of you… walking on the streets of Orchard, shopping in the same places and having meals in public too. I try my best to improve myself all the time even though it’s only human to make mistakes from time to time. Thanks for your kind words and maybe we will cross paths again one day.

HN,
we did approach Loewe to be part of the wedding besides Vera and Bally, but the notice given was too short. Such a pity…

你是我的偶像!!说得好!
This is how I felt when some pathetic Singaporean tried to act smart…Talk about some issues that they barely know aloud and got the American speaker, who’s the specialist in the topic speechless. Embarrassing, disappointing and angry…

Dear David,
I think you did an amazing job.
I guess there are people who are jealous so yah…as expected.
Keep it up David!!
Also, I love India just as much as you do!
Peaceful and beautiful place. Simplicity is happiness, dont you think?
