More random photo feeds right here from Home Club! We just had a crazy ambient set by SonicBrat — everyone so needs to catch him with his music! He’ll be performing again soon, I hear, so you have to be there!

Well well we’re on a roll here! I just got my hands on one of those incredibly kooky NOT AVAILABLE signs, and it’s been passed around Home! Here’s Darfina from Decent Child with our favourite sign of the moment!

We’re having more fun here as it starts to get dark! Guess who we met outside the club!

Boon from Armchair Critic! The Armchair Critic boys have been gigging at Home for quite a bit, and tonight they’re back here again for another great night! But too bad girls — he’s Not Available! :O
Still, come down to their gigs! The Armchair boys are a crazy bunch, and great to hang out with!

Hello friends! I’m updating directly from Home Club (free wifi — how wonderful!), and we’re here with almost a full house! This is quite exciting, really — there’s artwork on display, and the bands are going wild!
Here’s a photo of Carve This Heart, who arrived early for their evening set! Great boys! :)

So, what have I been up to these days? If you’ve noticed a couple of fairies prancing down Orchard Road, waving their wands and asking for spare change, well, I’ve been in their midst! The ever-kaypoh gatecrasher to events like these, I’ve been volunteering for Somethingood 2008, a music festival along Orchard Road, from 7 – 15 June. This week, I’ve met so many volunteers and musicians busking to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, my little fairy heart is touched!
Tonight, I think I’m going to volunteer as Queen Fairy at SomethingREALLYgood, a one-night gig at Youth Park. Am excited! I hear that Plain Sunset, Fishtank, and Allura are going to playing… FOR FREE! FREE SHOW!
What else could any good Singaporean be delighted by? Back in Japan, there were so many bands playing great music along the streets! Maybe I’m being a little idealistic — but I do hope that someday, we could be like this too!
Anyway, the free gig tonight seems like a pretty good start! Maybe I’ll see you there!

Two years ago, we carried the common red-white-blue bags into the lecture hall as a huge joke — and entertained only ourselves. Still, it’s probably one of the most recognisable prints around. Say, didn’t Louis Vuitton plant its monogram on one of these bags once?
Anyway, compared to the common Red-White-Blue bags, the one we have here is slightly more expensive and has a bit more thought put into it. I make it a point to trek up Hollywood Road to the all-revered G.O.D. store each time I visit Hong Kong. It has two whole floors full of quirky items with quirkier designs, and incredibly strong Hong Kong identity. I’m still in love with many things modern Asian, so it’s great seeing all that G.O.D. has on offer!
I wish we had more things with a strong Singaporean feel to them though. Sure we have those quirky lampshades with the blue TAXI signs, etc., etc., but it’d be nice to see an entire collection! Something tells me I’m going to find it soon — and something tells me this is more Haji than Ann Siang, or maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised by Far East Plaza — Who knows!

Got this off wikipedia a couple of months ago during a particularly mind-numbing Torts lecture; was probably searching for material for some other marketing campaign. I’ve got an entire collection of old Shanghai posters from the 1920s tucked away in a drawer, and a huge CCP poster from the Revolution stuck on my wall, but this dates back to 1900, which is fantastic!

Agyness Deyn has been my favourite model for a while now. I’m a follower of all the wonderful creations that make their way down the runway each season — and I love looking through shots of Agyness Deyn! She’s got this incredible energy and verve in her — which leaves me way too intrigued.
I once contemplated cutting my hair short just because she looked so good in it, but yes, I do know my limitations. Well it’s still art on her, and it’d probably have been a horrible mishap on me.
Well, not sure if anyone’s into this, but a friend just showed me the contestants for So U Think U’re Andro 2008! I think the finals are tomorrow night! Catch it if you have the time — it should be interesting!

I’m pretty excited about Short+Sweet this year, especially after catching quite a couple of really good plays last year! My favourite was Michael Corbidge’s Dead in a Box, which won Best Writer for 2007!
The script’s usually one of the most important elements of a play for me — and timings too. I think I was a rather scary director back then, because all the kids had to redo their scenes over and over again until they got the pauses right. Ahh, good times, good times.
