The Israeli military has ordered an investigation into a video uploaded to YouTube that apparently shows an Israeli soldier belly dancing beside a bound and handcuffed Palestinian woman.
Human rights groups have come out and said that a set of photographs released six weeks ago were “clear evidence of a culture within the (Israeli) military that treated Palestinians as objects rather than human beings”. The images portrayed an Israeli soldier smiling and playing around next to blindfolded and handcuffed Palestinian prisoners. The Palestinian Authority described the pictures as ‘humiliating”.
Therefore, I expect a similar outrage from this latest video to surface on YouTube – An Israeli soldier dancing and gyrating around a clearly terrified female Palestinian prisoner who is tied and also blindfolded.
The army has branded the Israeli commando’s actions as “SHAMEFUL”.
The editor of the video seems to think of himself as some kind of comedian, by annotating the clip with a speech bubble rising from the prisoner’s mouth – translated, it reads “Allahu Akbar” – Arabic for “God is Greatest.”
The Israeli military has ordered an investigation into the video that was first aired on local Israeli TV.

OK ladies, please do not be offended by the title of this post. You see, Sammi has never driven but is about to learn. When I passed my driving test many years go (*ahem*), the most challenging part was managing to master the art of reverse parking. Thanks to my buddy, Smith, and the team over at Wearnes Automotive, a couple of weeks ago, I was able to […]
Well I can certainly tell you, dear reader - life is about as busy as it gets right now!! Don't misunderstand me - I am not complaining, just perhaps making excuses why I'm so far behind with my blogging. When you mix a very busy day job and career with outside activities such as press appearances and media interviews, along with the wonderfu […]

Health authorities in Canada have come up with a campaign to curb 'social smoking', by comparing the smell of cigarette smoke to flatulance. The key message from the quite clever Ontario 'Quit the Denial' campaign, is "Social smoking is as ridiculous as social farting". 'Just because I fart every now-and-then doesn' […]
I'm just back in town after a month of travelling with very little access to internet. So, I couldn't resist writing my first blog article after the short hiatus by exposing a couple of the worst efforts of parenting that have been reported in recent times. Firstly, there is the news of a 38-year old mother from Utah (Robin Willette Rumsey), w […]
Before I make the observation below, let me state extremely clearly that as a permanent resident of Singapore I absolutely WILL NOT even try to enter the debate on the Singapore Government's Population White Paper. Not only would doing so be completely inappropriate as it would be out of place, but I would rather do without the online harrassment, baggi […]
Many of my faithful long-term readers and followers would most probably recall an article that I wrote back in late 2009, about an extremely talented singer / songwriter by the name of Andrew Chen. Well let’s now move the clock forward to January, 2013 and having rebranded himself as ‘Dru Chen’ he has really found his groove and developed into THE mos […]
In 1979, the Prime Minister of Singapore at the time, Mr Lee Kuan Yew launched The Speak Mandarin Campaign (SMC). The intention of the campaign was to "transform a deeply entrenched social-linguistic habit of Chinese Singaporeans who were long used to the speaking of dialects". The objectives of the campaign were as follows: 1. To simplify the […]
Now I'm not trying to be a smart-a** here... I am sincerely bewildered by this seemingly strange process to preview a new property development in Singapore. Also, I'm truly hoping that an estate agent or property developer could enlighten me as to the reasons why. I've come across this a few times now - both in person when showing intere […]
I've heard of 'cat-burglars', but a 'cat-smuggler'? - Well, I'll be... A seemingly stray cat is the latest perpetrator in a prison smuggling attempt. Guards at a prison in northeastern Brazil thought there was something suspicious about the little white kitty - perhaps it was something to do with all of the contraband strappe […]
